JOB OPPORTUNITIESOFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL POSTING #23-E-14 POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Leader Permanent Assignment: Crime Victim Services LOCATION: Chicago SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will promote consistent, professional and victim-centered medical forensic treatment of sexual assault patients statewide. Duties include but are not limited to the following: support and assist nurses who are working on the Adult/Adolescent and Pediatric/Adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) clinical requirements; facilitate the development of hospital area-wide treatment plans that will ensure all sexual assault patients will be treated by a SANE or other qualified medical provider, including 24/7 on-call SANE programs; support and assist rural communities in Central and Southern Illinois in developing Sexual Assault Response Teams; support SANE training activities; coordinate SANE continuing education; provide technical assistance for SANEs, nurses who are training to become SANEs, and others who contact the SANE Program; and maintain records and data for grant reporting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Spanish speaking preferred. Qualified candidates must be a licensed Registered Nurse at the time of application, be knowledgeable about SANE programs, policies and protocols, and be familiar with forensics, crime lab procedures, emergency medical terminology and procedures and victim advocacy. In addition, qualified candidates must either have completed or be willing to complete 40-hour Adult/Adolescent SANE didactic training, and either have completed or be willing to complete Adult/Adolescent SANE clinical training. In addition, qualified candidates must either have completed or be willing to complete 40-hour Pediatric/Adolescent SANE didactic training, and either have completed or be willing to complete Pediatric/Adolescent SANE clinical training. Travel and the physical ability to file and duplicate information which may include bending, stretching, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs. are required. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.
