SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Intern will be responsible for providing support to attorneys in the Civil Rights Bureau to build and analyze civil rights investigations and litigation. Internship projects will involve collecting and analyzing publicly available data to identify possible patterns or practices of discrimination or disparate impact in connection with civil rights investigations and litigations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. This position requires general knowledge of data analytics, statistical analysis, and ability to complete data analysis in Excel, Python, R, or a similar program. Experience with statistical modeling, multi-databases, and a familiarity with federal and state agency data systems and/or open-source systems are a plus. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with the ability to self-start, prioritize, and multi-task. They must be willing to work collaboratively, have an ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, and work well under deadlines.

Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours a week for 8 consecutive weeks. Please note that this internship is unpaid.
