POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Executive Assistant to the Attorney General-Scheduling

BUREAU SERVED: Assistant to the AG


POSITION SALARY: Commensurate with experience


Under the Director of Scheduling and Advance, the Executive Assistant to the Attorney General - Scheduling assists with scheduling events, meetings, and the general maintenance of the Attorney Generalís calendar. The Executive Assistant to the Attorney General Ė Scheduling will prepare logistical and background briefing memos for the Attorney Generalís public appearances and in-house meetings; advance and staff the Attorney General at public engagements as assigned; research and prepare special requests; process invitations, respond to scheduling inquiries; brief the Attorney General on scheduling requests as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.

The Executive Assistant to the Attorney General Ė Scheduling will work closely with various departments within the office such as: senior administration officials, division/bureau chiefs, outreach, and press, among others.


This position requires a bachelorís degree in political science, communications, journalism, or public relations and at least two years professional experience or an equivalent combinations of education and experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of Illinois state government is desired. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, a valid driverís licenses, the ability to travel throughout the state, and flexibility are required. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.

Hours of Work: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
