Job OpportunitiesTitle: Deputy Bureau Chief Division: Government Representation Bureau: Unemployment Insurance Location: Chicago Office The Unemployment Insurance Bureau provides legal representation to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. The Bureau's responsibilities include representing the Department in administrative review cases from either benefit or tax decisions, in civil collections of both benefit overpayment and non-payment of unemployment insurance taxes, in bankruptcy cases, in miscellaneous cases involving the administration of the employment security programs and handling subpoenas or other official requests for information. The Deputy Bureau Chief is responsible for assisting the Bureau Chief with supervising five attorneys and eight support staff as well as handling litigation matters. Qualifications and salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and is funded by the Department of Employment Security. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Illinois at the time of application, have 10 or more years of litigation experience, and have excellent communication and management skills.
