MADIGAN: DRUG DEALER NETS SIX YEARS IN PRISON

Chicago – Attorney General Lisa Madigan today announced that a Chicago man received a six-year prison sentence for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Judge Daniel Rozak sentenced Francisco Jauregui, Jr., 37, to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) following his guilty plea today in Will County Circuit Court.

Madigan’s Statewide Grand Jury prosecuted Jauregui following an investigation by the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad that revealed Jauregui sold cocaine in February 2008 to another man in the county.

“This prosecution demonstrates an effective team effort between my office and local law enforcement to combat dangerous drug dealing in Illinois,” said Attorney General Madigan.

Jauregui is being held in the Will County Jail pending his transfer to IDOC. Bureau Chief John Kezdy handled the case for Madigan’s Statewide Grand Jury Bureau.
