Potential Funding and Volunteer Aid for Your Youth Court
The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary are committed to programs that improve and promote the welfare of children.
In 1997, the National Headquarters of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary adopted a resolution to place youth courts within their National Children and Youth Program and to encourage youth court involvement throughout the nation. A year later, the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary of Illinois adopted a similar resolution, focusing on promoting youth courts around the State.
Citizens interested in starting a youth court in their community or with existing youth courts should contact their local American Legion Auxiliary Post to inquire about funding opportunities and volunteer assistance.
