Protecting Children from Life-Threatening Allergic Reactions

With life-threatening allergies among children on the rise, a new law permits Illinois schools to keep on hand a supply of potentially life-saving epinephrine auto-injectors, more commonly known as “EpiPens.” To learn more about this important new law, please read the fact sheets below. Physicians can also consult the posted toolkit to assist in providing a school with a prescription for an epinephrine auto-injector, including a standardized standing order and prescription form.
