Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Specialist assists the Public Utilities Bureau with research, analysis, and development of initiatives. The Program Specialist shall serve on project teams and is responsible for assisting in the development of policy initiatives and evaluating the effectiveness of Public Utilities programs. The Program Specialist shall be responsible for acting as a liaison between the Office of the Attorney General and communities throughout the State of Illinois as assigned. The Program Specialist reports directly to the Chief of the Public Utilities Bureau.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires a background in public policy development and demonstrated competence in organizational and interpersonal communication, as well as excellent research and writing abilities. The position requires the ability to complete assignments timely with limited or no supervision. Attendance, the ability and willingness to travel as needed, and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position. Experience with public utilities matters is preferred.
Hours of Work: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
