Job Opportunities OFFICE OF THE ILLINOIS ATTORNEY GENERAL Position: Computer Evidence Recovery Technician Bureau: High Tech Crimes Location: Springfield Salary: Commensurate with experience Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The High Tech Crimes Bureau seeks a technically advanced individual to serve as a Computer Evidence Recovery Technician (CERT). The primary responsibility of a CERT is to conduct forensic examinations of electronic evidence. Additionally, a CERT will be required to provide technical support to investigators and prosecutors, assist law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies in high tech investigations and prosecutions, design and present training programs to law enforcement and prosecutors, provide technical support to all High Tech Crimes Bureau personnel, and deliver educational and awareness presentations to various constituent groups. Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience in law enforcement or computer forensics. The ideal candidate will have significant exposure to law enforcement practices and techniques, particularly related to evidence handling. Relevant certifications a plus. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public is an essential function of this position.
